Default How can I get the answers I need from my Alltel DSL service?

I have the feeling that my Alltel DSL is blocking some ports for me to get into any Yahoo! chat room. Yahoo! suggested I conctact Alltel to fix the problem but they say it is not them. Plus, I don't know what ports to tell them to unblock and make them understand.

I am not very good with computer terminology so I could use some help on how to describe to Alltel DSL what should be done to unblock the ports.

I have tried other options to get into Yahoo! chat with no success including reloading Yahoo! Messenger and changing my firewall settings. The DSL must be what is causing the problem but I need help on describing the problem to them so they understand and I understand. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

DSL is nothing more than a transport to the internet...it can't prevent you from accessing specific websites therefore AllTell would not be able to assist you in unblocking anything. If I were you, I would attempt to use a different browser (Firefox, Netscape, etc) when trying to access this chat room. Either that or your router itself (if you're connected to one) is set not to access certain sites which again, would be up to you to reconfigure.
