Alltel Pre-paid plan question?

So i am getting the alltel pre-paid plan for the pay per minute and i am getting the FREE unlimited text and night and weekends. I also want to get the other two features that cost .25/ day but i was wondering do i still get charged that .25 cents a day even if i dont use the features?

And could i switch the unlimited features anytime i want? or is it whatever you pick and then you're stuck with it?
