Alltel and Verizon Data plan?

I currently have a contract with alltel and am using the LG Scoop. I am really interested in a data plan and to use the BB storm. My contract is a family plan for my phone and my sister's phone. I was wondering how much it would cost to add a data plan for my phone (not hers). Do I just add $29.99 to the price I pay now or is there other differences? Thank you!
