Can I buy an alltel phone and activate it on verizon if i have an alltel plan?

Alltel and Verizon (NYSE: VZ) merged. You can go into verizon and get a phone and port your telephone/cell number from your phone, and then put it on a verizon phone.

Or you could go to a store and get an Alltel Pay as you go phone. What you do is activated it online, or go activate it at Alltel.

and will this change my plan? I know that if I get a Verizon (NYSE: VZ) phone I would have to change my plan to a Verizon plan, but I like my plan. Thats why I chose Alltel. Can I buy an Alltel phone online and activate it with no changes? I don't want to be stuck with the Delve for the next year and a half. I'm not sure it will make it that long.
