Alltel Text Messaging Problems?

I've had alltel for a few months now and I've never had problems until just yesterday. I was sending my girlfriend a text, and she told me why i was sending her random symbols and letters... obviously it wasn't what i sent her. This also happened to my friend aswell when i was texting him. I tried texting both of them several times, different messages but it seemed most of the time minus a couple of texts; it just continued to be symbols and letters. My phone is the Alltel Hue by Samsung. So if anyone knows what the problem is, or if its just my phone, please let me know I'd surely appreciate it
