Why can we buy alltel prepaid cards here, but can't get service started?

 Why can we buy alltel prepaid cards here, but can't get service started? I was going to get alltel service, but when I went to the website, they said they didn't sell service in my area, but I can go to my local Wal-mart and buy reload cards there. I looked at the map that shows you the coverage areas, my area is covered.  |

| The map isnt exact and probaly includes 'partner coverage', which means its not Alltel directly providing service in that area. If thats the case, they aren't going to allow new customers sign up cuz it costs money to rent/use the towers. I would suggest contacting Alltel directly tho, they can give you the precise info. |
