How do you go about canceling an alltel phone plan?

My husband is active duty navy and originally purchased this plan while I was finishing school in another state well because my husband is cute but not incredibly thrifty or really conscientious about fine print we are now paying 150 a month for 2 phones, which one phone is missing and even though we have the insurance on it, it will cost 50 dollars to get this cheap phone replaced. We do not need a 150 a month plan and really need some advice on getting it canceled the cheapest way possible or even getting it put on hold like we were able to do with Tmobile when my husband went to boot camp. please help.
