I am also getting a Droid as soon as it hits Friday, so I've been doing some research.

Android apps come in a wide variety. From productive (like workout monitors and to-do lists), to simple customization (you'll be surprised at just how much you can customize an Android phone), to great games.

The widgets tend to be more specific (aside from standard weather forecasts and calendars), like sports scores and stock updates.

I don't think you'll have any problem finding great apps for your Droid.

Good Question. I was thinking the same thing.

One answer I saw about the G1 (the other Android phone) was that the Android market does not test and approve the applications, so many of the apps will crash the phone. You have to be careful that the application has good ratings before downloading it, otherwise, on the G1, you would have to remove all apps if the app crashes your phone.
