do you have to pay for the internet service if you want an iphone?

If you are using an iPhone w/ At&t, the Terms & Conditions of Service requires you to keep the $30 iPhone unlimited data feature. Even if you manage to remove the feature, At&t can add it back to your account even if you didn't want it.
