Default I have Iphone questions?

k, I've been thinking about buying the iphone 3gs for some time now. the only thing holding me back is the stories of ppl makin noobish mistakes then their first monthly bill is outstanding, from a negative point of view. One girl in my class said they take ur unlimited messaging away and replace it with data. Which is $30 a month right?
What other charges will i see? What should I avoid doing straight out of the box? If I use myspace or twitter will I be charged extra? I want apps, what if i purchase apps then reboot are the apps still there? Yikes forgot, could I keep my same number? O.o

I checked out other phones and non interest me atm but this one, it's not a fad thing either, i just want

And I know I can ask ATT but they're the most slow but impatient ppl in the world.

Thanks in advance 3

The basic iPhone plan is 450 rollover minutes plus the mandatory data plan. It's $70/month plus taxes and fees. If you want unlimited texting, it's an additional $20/month for a total of $90/month. You can keep your number. Just start your iPhone service before you shut down your current service. Your apps will still be there after a reboot.

The data plan gives you unlimited internet access on the 3g network. You can use myspace and youtube without worries. With unlimited texting, Twitter is free.
