Also can i keep this phone to my family plan by upgrading my old phone to the iphone?

I don't think AT&T gives you a 2 year renewal discount on any of the iPhones. And you don't even have to get a data plan if you don't want. I'm going to tell you what I tell everyone else wanting an iPhone: eBay is your best bet. Most phones on eBay are already unlocked and usually a bit cheaper than buying one from AT&T AND you are NOT required to activate the phone with them so you can just pop your sim card in and go. The thing is, you will only be able to use the basic features of the iPhone (making receiving calls, text messages, mp3 player) because the price of using per KB internet would be horrendous. I have a Moto Q9h on a family with other phones but since I use the internet and email on my phone I got the data package but on just the MotoQ and not the other phones on the family plan.

I'm not 100% sure if you can cancel the data plan but here is a good link to give you the good and bad of the IPhone. Sounds like it really isn't worth the hype.
