How do you change the service provider for a iPhone?

Like the 3GB this year, how do you change the service provider? If I can, is it legal, and will I get customer service still? Whoever answers these three questions and gives some thorough info will get pat on the back and 10 points

First, you have to unlock your phone, just watch a couple of Youtube videos. (Thats risky)

Or you could give it to somebody at a phone store and tell them to unlock it for you. (safe, but you have to pay)

This is going to take a couple of days, so yea...

ok, heres what u do. u have 2 options. you can either buy and unlocked ihpone or unlock 1 yourself.to unlock the phone simply buy a unlocker card. in my source section i willl post the link to the unlocker i have. simply slide the unlocker in with your reguler sim card.
