I dropped my iPhone 3G and all i see is a blank white screen. Can it be...

...fixed?/What do I do? So I got my 8-gig iPhone 3G on Christmas and I dropped it from about waist height on accident onto a paved surface on Jan. 7. When I picked it up there were a few gray bars on a white screen and then the screen just turned all-white after I pressed the home button. Turning it off, charging it, and etc. dontfix it. It still works with iTunes and I can even receive calls from it and push the accept call button, even though I can't see them.

Can anyone tell me if I can get it fixed or replaced if I take it to an Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) store? Or is this covered in the warranty or will they charge me the $199 out-of-warranty repair fee?

I did the same thing, but from only a few inches high. I took it to the Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) Store and the Tech said the cable inside the phone that conects the screen to the board had come loose. They gave me a new phone and I was on my way.
Before you go to the Store make sure you back up all your information in Itunes because they don't transfer data from old phone to new phone. Also, if you go online and make an appointment with a tech, you will be seen alot quicker. They usually have same day appointments available.
When I got home I plugged my new phone in and it asked if I wanted to restore old phone info or start new. I pushed restore and everything including the screen saver was transfered to the new phone.

I just did the same thing and I held the power button and the home button for 10 sec . The screen went all white with lines running through it so I kept trying it but nothing. I got mad and I gave the screen a good smack with my Palm (NSDQ: PALM) and the Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) icon came up and loaded the home screen Thank god!
