Unlimited boost mobile?

im thinking of getting a boost mobile phone with the ulimited plan. my question is do i have to pay for the phone plus the $50.00 up front or do i just pay for the phone and then pay the $50.00 later wen the bill comes? thanx 10pts for the most informational answer
