if you buy a nextel phone can you but a boost mobile sim card?

You can IF the nextel pone is unlocked. You can ring the store where you are planning on buying it and asking them if there phones are unlocked. Usually, if the store sells phones available on many different netowrks then the phones will be unlocked.

If the phone isnt unlocked then they may be able to unlock it in the store and if not you can either bring it to a phone repair shop and they can do it there or ring nextel and ask them to give the code to you. if its a bill phone then they might not give you the code.
But be carefull with unloking codes, you need to be really carefull with entering the code into the phone, if you do it wrong you will 'over-lock' the phone and its a b!!tch to get it fixed!

you have to buy a starter kit. It's $20 bucks upfront but $10 in call credit so it's really like $10. Pretty good deal if you already have the nextel phone.
