can i use other phones for boost mobile unlimited?>?

im tired of my brown phone i have from them and i was wondering if i can buy any unlocked phone such as a BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) pearl or any Verizon (NYSE: VZ) phone and use it with boost unlimited?? can i do that??
i really wanna add a blackberry pearl to my phone line and get rid of this brown w385 i have.

Boost uses the same CDMA technology as VZ and Sprint (NYSE: S) so any "unlocked" CDMA phone should work. However, it will only work if Boost allows the phone to be used on their network so you may want to check with them first if they allow non-Boost phones. They basically have to program in the MIN & ESN numbers of the phone into their system so their network will recognize the phone and allow calling. Every phone has a unique MIN & ESN numbers which are written inside the battery compartment. Also, some data services on Pearl may not work in Boost network if the phone is from VZ. But voice, SMS, and most of the basic data features should work.
