For these mobile devices are all having limited memory space, thus users always need a helpful tool to assist them to compress the file size of their on-hand videos, so that they can import them for playback successfully. This thread will concentrate on this point, and show you how to compress the video size in detail via the help of Pavtube Video Converter for Mac. If you are a Mac user, you can read on the step-by-step instruction to get what you need.

1. Download Pavtube Video Converter for Mac, install and run it.

2. Import video files, set output format and location
Click button “Add” to load the video files you want to convert from your Mac. Then, select the output format from the drop-down list of “Format”. There are specified formats for nearly all portable devices, including iPod, iPhone, Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) TV, BlackBerry, Creative ZEN, PSP/PS3, Xbox 360, Zune, etc, so you can select one according to your own requirements at will. Here I choose iPhone for instance:

After that, you should hit the button “Browse” to choose the destination folder to load output files, otherwise, the program will export the resulted files to default save path automatically. By the way, if you want to join multiple files to be one file, you can check “Merge into one file” to realize it.

3. Compress file size via setting advanced settings
Click “Settings”, then you will see the following interface, you can realize the goal of compressing file size by adjusting the video and audio parameters, like image pixels, bit rate, frame rate, and sample rate, to smaller values. The smaller inserting values, the smaller file size.

4. Convert
After all the necessary settings are ready, you can click button “Convert” to start the conversion. The following interface will give you an estimation of the final generated file size, so that you can realize if you have enough space to save the output files on your portable devices. If not, you can go back to the former step to reset video and audio parameters to be further smaller.
