Help, not receiving texts!

I'm using a Samsung AT&T Go Phone. Starting Wednesday I couldn't send or receive text messages, which I depend on heavily. Took the battery out; now I seem to be able to send but not receive from anyone but other AT&T customers. AT&T customer service says everything's fine, as far as they're concerned. Any thoughts?
