How do i text someone that lives in the USA from england?

Is There A special Code I need to use? If So can you tell me what it is as i want to text my friend living in texas but i live in england and it doesn't work

the country code for america is 01,try putting that in front of the area code and see if they text goes through. if not, you might not be able to send international text messages, ask your cell phone company

you need to adjust their phone number for dialing

so my friend in germany , if i wanted to text.. would be

+49 <number>

sometimes you need to remove area codes.. or leading zero's. varies from country to country..

like if someone texts me from abroad.. my uk number is

079.....

instead of 079....

they text

+4479

get them to text your, might be easier then just store their number =)

after typing the text, put 0091 then the person number it will go

In the US most operators are CDMA i guess....In the UK must be GSM ....usually the method is to prefix wih country code alone ie +1 and the ten digit mobile numbers....but a lot of operators in the US do not allow incomin messages cos they are charged and it ll depend on the plan as wll....better to check with both operators and then begin texting !

well, dont forget to get rid of 0 after 001, normally you need get rid of 0 after country code 001. For example, if you want to text to UK, and the phone number in UK is 07762222222 something like that, you need type 0044 7762222222. Well, that's done!
