how can you convince parents to get you a cell phone?

all my friends have cell phones and im desperate! i saved up all the money for the phone a Sanyo (OTCPK: SANYY) katana from kajeet and for months and months worth of minutes but still no ive had so many times when ive said i wish i had a cell phone right now and my rents no that i need suggestions

It's easy if you say you'll pay for all or most of it. For example, if your parents have a cell phone, than you can put your phone on their plan and say you'll pay for any extra minutes, text messages, downloads, etc. Also, mention to your parents how a cell phone can help them keep tabs on you, and you could use it to call 911 if you were in an emergency.

Don't do what Karl G. said though. If you are under 18, you can't sign a contract without parental consent. Also, your parents will be responsible for the bill if you don't pay it. So you need them to be on-side before you can go ahead and get a cell phone.

best reason for having a cell phone is they can save you in an emergency.explain to them that you need it so that they can contact you and you can contact them at all times.this means they will always know where you are.thats the reason i got my first cell phone!!!

How old are you? Just because your friends have a cellphone doesn't mean you need one. If your parent's have cellphones ask them to add a line to their plan. Don't go over your minutes or txt too much...Try telling them that they may call you anytime ey need to know where you are. Try using this: I could be at the mall one day, and I may need a ride home but the pay phones are broken. You expect me to walk that long distance alone? Who knows what can happen to me. =]

2. Tell them that you can do chores around the house to help pay for the monthly bills.
3. Ask them what happens if you have an emergency and you have no phone to use to call.
4. Ask them if someone you know could have an emergency and you have no phone to call for help.

5. Tell them that if you ever went somewhere you could call and check them
6. Also tell them that if they ever wanted to get in touch with you that you would have a phone for them to call.

Hmm, well first of all if you're 13 or over you should have a phone i think.

What I did, when i turned 14, was purposely go to places where I know I couldn't be reached. Maybe go to the park after school with some friends and reach home late. Lol I know it's kinda stupid, but it worked for me. Plus, you'll have fun hanging out lol.
