Default I dropped my cell phone in water...what can I do to fix it?

Yesterday I dropped my cell phone in water. I pulled it out as soon as I could so it was only in the water for a couple of seconds. I was out of reach of anything to try it with so it was about an hour and a half before I could blow dry it. I blew the battery and the actual phone dry, and a couple minutes later it worked. I went to bed with my phone on, but the this morning when I woke up it was off. I'm guessing that it turned off because I dropped it in the water, or maybe because it is low on battery. I have tried charging it today and I blow dried it for a minute, and right now I have it sitting under a lamp, but I;m not sure what else to do. Any suggestions? Thank you.

well all you need is a new battery the phone should work fine i drop my bud phone in the pool and it was in there for a good while and i pull it out lucky for me we were both drunk so i made him think he drop it in the water all i did was suggest to leave it in the sun let it dry up and like i said before all your gonna need to do is replace the battery only if it doesn't turn back on and stay on!!!

Best thing to tell you is your phone is fired. It may work for a short time now, but with water damage it will destroy it.

Do you have insurance on your phone? If you do best suggestion is file a claim ASAP (you usually have 30 days to report it). Tell them the phone received water damage. You were able to retrieve it. Leave it at that. Don't go into detail about what all happened.

Since there is water damage any warranty is void.

Maybe you should take it to the place where you purchased the phone, tell them what happened, and see what they say. Good luck.

If you have insurance, you can pay a bit for a deductible and get a new phone. The same thing happened to my husband's phone but instead of water, his phone was doused in coke by my two year old son! The phone stopped working for a day. I took it to the cell phone store and they even said it was shot. A day later, by some miracle, it started working. My husband had the same phone for two years. So, what I would do, is take the battery out, let it sit in a cool place as well as the phone itself for a while even if it's overnight and then try it again. When you put the phone back together, plug it up and let it charge a few hours. See how this works. If not, you might be in for a new phone - could be better though. You can get the iphone!
