Can I Tether My HTC Hero (Android) To my Mac without rooting it?

Hey,

I have an HTC Hero from sprint, and I really don't want to root it because I don't want to downgrade it. I am wondering if there is anyway I can tether my Macbook Pro, to my HTC hero without rooting or reinstalling the rom. I would like to do this Nativity on OSX(e.g. not with parallels or bootcamp). I have access to windows if need be to configure the android, but again would like to use this on OSX either over wifi, bluetooth, or USB. Please if possible give detailed instructions, thanks in advanced.
