My mom is using a HTC Touch phone, and she is having internet problems?

She keeps getting an error message before she even gets to her homepage. It keeps telling her that could not establish network connection on opera, and username is invalid, please check username and try again on internet explorer. Her phone has worked fine for a long time. What can she do to correct this without having to deal with stupid customer service?
Ok...then can you kindly point me in the direction of correcting this error? Or can u tell me why its a stupid phone???
