which is better HTC hero or samsung moment?

im 14 and i can get a new phone as a early christmas present.
im looking at the hero or the moment.
i love texting thats why i love the keyboard on the moment.
but is HTC gonna have updates before samsung?2.0?
and i love the sense ui but hate the fact it doesnt have a physical keyboard.which one should i get?
im stuck to Sprint (NYSE: S) so no reccomenddations of other companys besides Verizon (NYSE: VZ) we can still switch
