HTC Touch - dialing from a number in a calendar appointment?

On all my previous pdas, phone nos entered into a calendar apt have appeared as a link allowing you to scroll to the number and click to dial. However on the "Touch" the number is just a number and you cannot dial - any advice as Ive always found this to be a useful feature when Ive not got round to setting up a contact..
