I want to know, why I could recieve picture and voice text's instantly when

I owned a Kyocera (NYSE: KYO) Lingo phone.? When I owned a Kyocera Lingo phone (http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-9789959-1.html) I could receive picture and voice texts instanty. Now that I own the Verizon (NYSE: VZ) pocket pc phone [http://mobilitytoday.com/article.php?a=Verizon_XV6600_Reviews.html] (fully flashed for cricket) I have to wait untill I can connect to the internet to send/receive the mms texts. And that is IF, it goes through. Which is rare! I know it is not because the phone is flashed for cricket, because a friend of mine got a new phone from cricket and she has the same problem. ?? Anyone?
