lg chocolate problems? screen is completely white...?

Im about to leave for a trip tonight and i really dont have time to go to the Verizon (NYSE: VZ) store. but my phone (lg choco) isnt working. the screen is completely white and i cant see anything. its still working though. but i need to be able to use the camera and stuff for the trip.. is there anything i can do at home to fix it before i leave? i've already tried restarting it but it didnt work. has this ever happened to anyone else? HELP =/

I currently work for Verizon (NYSE: VZ) Wireless and I've been with the company for 4 years. Throughout these past 4 years, I have never seen a phone malfunction as much as the chocolate. People are constantly in the store complaining about it, saying it's not working properly. The white screen is a very common thing with the chocolate. It is not caused by anything you did, it's just a faulty phone, and unfortunately there's nothing you can do to fix the problem. Since your phone is under a year old, it is still covered under warranty and can be replaced through a local Verizon Wireless Retail Store, or if you call customer service, they will ship you out a new one (free of charge, of course) 1-800-922-0204. Well i have the starwberry choco and this never happend to me but if your in a hurry you could try on the back taking it off and blow on it then put it back on and turn it on!?

Sorry no that happens when ur phone either has fallen on the ground or it has 2 much memory that happened 2 mine and the Verizon (NYSE: VZ) guy fixed it but it took a long time, and go 2 youtube and this lady shows how herchocolate is broken and i noticed her screen is all white sorrry 4 the bad news, but 4 this 2 happen u must of droped a couple times cause it does this when it is damaged

What causing the white screen from chocolate phone are two things I come across with them are the flex cable is bad or the LCD has water damage. But most likely I think its the flex cable.

So my phone did the same thing... with the white scree... while I was in the middle of texting. I hadn't even dropped the phone. I have the white chocolate that I got in Nov. of '06. I know the warranty is up, but I have the extra monthly insurance... Will I still be able to get a new phone?
