Low At&t signal on my LG Ku970 Shine?

I bought the ku970 (unlocked) off ebay and when i put in my sim card, i was getting really low signal from At&t Extend unlike my old phone where i was getting full bar even inside my house. And whats the difference between at&t and at&t extend anyway because it only lets me connect to At&t extend not to the usual at&t? help is appreciated. thank you very much.

That phone lacks the 850 band, which AT&T runs off of in most places. You are more than likely roaming off of the 1900 band which the phone has. You really should use the proper phone with AT&T if you want full signal. It should have at least the 850 band, if not be a full quad band phone.
