...a way I can get a new account w/it? I want to get the new account using my old Razr which got disconnected months ago. Actually, the phone belonged to a friend of mine, and he gave it to me after it got disconnected for not paying his bills. Will this cause a problem? What should I do??

yep, until the account is in good standing the phone is worthless unless it has a sim chip

First, I think, you need to get it unlocked. Maybe you can get him to call Sprint (NYSE: S) and asked for the unlock code. If they aren't to mad at him, they might help him. Option 2 would be Google (NSDQ: GOOG) for "RAZR Unlock services". Some want you to send it to them and others say they can do it online. I have no expierence with either, I unload my own. After it is unlocked, you should be able to buy a "no phone" service plan from most any carrier. When you get your SIM, pop it into the RAZR and you are good to go. Good luck.
