Razr z3 slide problems.?

I just got a Razr z3 and I'm having problems charging it. I thought the problem was with the charger because it wouldn't charge but when I tried it on the computer with the USB cord it did the same thing. So what it's doing is when I plug it in the green light will come on saying it's charger and after a few minutes it turns on on its own. The charge light will go off and I can unplug it and wiggle the cord but it doesn't do anything. Then it will turn off because it dies and I can repeat the process with the same results. Does anyone know whats happening?
