Default Motorola Bluetooth H350 Headset and Alltel LG AX350 (wave) Phone help?

I have successfully paired my bluetooth headset to my phone and it works just fine except it has problems with voice dialing. I will do the required "Call Someone" command via voice, then say a person's name (like "Aaron"). It then says: "Did you say Aaron?". Problem is, when I say "yes" it will not register that command unless i flip open my phone. It registers "no" perfectly fine without me even touching my phone. Sadly, I am stuck using the "digit dial" command because it will not register "yes" for "calling someone".

Gah!

How can I fix this problem?

I have the same problem, and after googling found your thread and subscribed.

Please see below for inquiry I emailed to LG (also referencing this thread):

To Whom it May Concern:

Subject phone will not "Voice Dial" with a bluetooth headset if the phone is in the closed clamshell position and the contact being called has multiple numbers stored. It works properly with the phone open.

Specifically, the phone will accept the command "Voice Dial". It will then ask for the name, and accept it as well. However, when it asks if you said the name, the phone locks up when saying "Yes". It still works with the command "No" or "Back".

I have tested this with a Motorola (NYSE: MOT) H670, Motorola H500 and a LG HBM-300. I acutally purchased the H670, and returned it thinking the problem was the headset, until I realized that the H500 had the same problem. After testing with the LG HBM-300 to verify that it wasn't a brand issue, and finding the thread mentioned below, I knew the problem lied with the handset, not the headset.

See thread with same problem here:

Your help correcting this problem is greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Travis

I just got off the phone with LG tech support, who said that it is a known issue and there is no current repair.

I asked the agent if LG was offering a phone replacement, and they said they were not. The agent's response was that the phones are spec'ed by the phone companies and they were basically shifting the blame to Alltel for providing improper specs to build.

However, when I directly asked them if I should call Alltel, the agent said I would probably have to speak to someone in corporate and that still probably wouldn't help. I informed him that I had actually called Alltel prior to this, and they were the ones who gave me LG's tech support line in the first place. He gave a canned apology and basically asked if there was anything else he could do for me (basically implying to get off his phone line).

This is unacceptable business practice by both parties Alltel and LG.

Well, I didn't exactly fight the good fight. I found out that Alltel will let you swap out of a new phone up to 30 days into its use if you have a legitimate reason. Mine was that I purchased the phone for the bluetooth connectivity and since the phone did not have proper bluetooth functionality I needed to get a different model.

I went with the ROKR Z6m because it was the only other phone with City ID and bluetooth.

Side note: City ID is the single best new feature aside perhaps from the full internet browser of the iPhone. Too bad its only available on 4 phones (AX-275, AX-380 - "Wave", Samsung r-500 - "Hue", and ROKR Z6M), and all of them Alltel.
