Default I have an 18 month mobile phone contract woth O2. It expires on 13th January. ?

I want to cancel the contract and give one month's notice. My problem is O2 (NYSE: TEF) tell me that I have to wait until 13th January before I can give one month's notice thus making the contract last for 19 months. Is this correct. I would have thought that I could give one month's notice on 13th December so that the contract finishes after 18 months.

You can call up on 13th jan and cancel it from that day, you dont need to give any notice once you have paid your full contract. The reason they dont let you do it before this is because they will keep tempting you with better and better deals to make you stay, they let you renew contract one month before though!

Just call on 13th and tell them no matter what you are leaving, if you want to you can leave right now and just pay the left over contract fee which will be like whatever u pay per month plus a bit more from today until the 13th dec.

I would wait until the contract is dead, but I would tell them politely "No, Thank You" at renewal.

I agree with that 33 guy or girl, but I would tell them to suck my left one (in Jan)

Wait till Jan, but when they call (and they will) in Jan - just say NO and laugh incessantly and don't stop until "they" hang up!

I almost agree with that 33 person, but I'd belt out what that Ambi person wrote...

Have fun, I wish I was you!
