Default Is there a place that unlocks the CDMA in the phones to MetroPCS for cheap in Miami?
I've been contemplating on purchasing a Samsung Glyde from the Verizon (NYSE: VZ) network and "unlocking" it in order to use it under MetroPCS.

How much does "flashing" or unlocking usually cost? I called a place and they told me they'd take care of it for $100. Idk, the price seems a bit exaggerated. How would this whole procedure work? Do i have to tell Metro what i'm doing so i can keep my number?

You can't unlock that phone, or have it unlocked. You can however have it flashed over to MetroPCS, if they will do it for you. Call MetroPCS (NYSE: PCS) and ask them if you can use that phone with their service.

Unlocking usually refers to GSM phones, and being locked to a provider. Here in the US, CDMA phones as of now are still "locked" to their provider, and cannot be used on another providers service. That may change in the future though.
