I cant get my palm pre buzz when I receive a message?

Couple days ago I update my Palm (NSDQ: PALM) pre to get pretty much everything on it with new software but right before that my husband did the trial on his phone first to see if it work or not then I would do the same. Anyway his palm was working great and have no problem but mine isn't. I don't have notification on when I receive a message or buzz even though I have all bells and whistle ON all the way. Anyone know what am I doing wrong or how to fix it?
