pantech slate- getting ringtones to phone with usb??help!!?

Okay, so I ordered a USB cable, and it came to my house not too long ago. It was a pantech one, that is the phone I have. So, I plugged it into my pc, and put in my my phone. A installation wizard thin came up, but it said no software was detected... Do i need some kind of software to do this? If so, what software? I have the pantech slate C530! Please give me software that will work, has no viruses, and is free. Thank you!!
I already downloaded ringtones, i just need software to get them to my phone..
