Default Which PDA platform is best? I am mainly talking about Blackberry and Microsoft...

...Windows Mobile here. Not Palm.? I plan to buy a PDA-style phone soon and have narrowed my choice to between the RIM BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) or Microsoft's Windows Mobile platforms. I mainly want to use my device to keep up-to-date with my calendar items and read and respond to email, but having a device that I could occasionally do other things too wouldn't hurt. I'm also not a fan of Palm's OS and I don't think their platform is going to be around much longer. Thanks!

I prefer windows, but disagree with your assessment on the Palm (NSDQ: PALM) OS, it is going to be around for a long time. While I think it is less elegant than Windows, they are sturdy and cost effective. Plus there are tons of programs and developers dedicated to Palm. If you have limited PDA use a BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) is fine. If you are a power user and want to do a great deal of writing or computing, go for a Windows Mobile. These guys love their batteries, so I recommend carrying a spare if you do a lot of phoning and entries on the run.
