Default Verizon Wireless BlackBerry 8830 World Edition...Works with T-Mobile?
I am a T-Mobile (NYSE: DT) member and I just got a BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) 8830 from a person. It says Verizon (NYSE: VZ) all over the box and its on the phone, but I don't know if it can be compatible with T-Mobile. Anyone know? I use the Family Plan.

The T-Mobile (NYSE: DT) chip is only compatible with a T-moble phone. Same with Verizon, if the phone says Verizon, then you would have to use a Verizon (NYSE: VZ) smart chip in that particular phone.

Research In Motion BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) 8830 Specs & Features (Phone Scoop)

It says that domestic GSM is not supported, and does not have 850/1900, which is what is used in the US. It is for overseas roaming. It will not work with T-Mobile (NYSE: DT) in the US.
