OK, so yesterday I was IMing on AIM on the Rumor 2's mobile IM/email client. All of a sudden, it slowed down to where letters took a full second to appear after being typed and after hitting Enter, my messages never got sent. Also, my MSN would get logged out and would not be able to log back in until I reset the account and manually re-entered all my login info.

On an unrelated (or is it?) note, Opera Mini randomly refused to connect to any websites at all (the OpenWave browser connected) and I ended up having to delete and redownload it.

I did two battery pulls and these did not help.

Are these flaws with the Rumor 2, or is VMUSA still having network "issues?"

Thanks!!!!

X-tc's MP3 player does not display MP3 tags correctly

I put music on my X-tc's media card (SanDisk 8 GB microSDHC) using a Digital Concepts SD/MMC Reader/Writer converter drive. I dragged each file individually to the My Music folder on the card, which I had formatted on the X-tc prior to hooking it to the computer.

When I load the X-tc's media player, instead of displaying the correct tag information (artist, album, title, etc.), it displays garbage such as ’žM, ’žN, etc. for those fields.

If I check the tags on my computer using MP3tagedit, they are correct. It seems as though the X-tc's media player simply cannot read the IDv3 tag information for some reason.

Is this happening to anyone else? The files still play, so it's not a calamity, just an annoyance.

Thank you.

I was told I need to call VM USA and get my full account number from them in order to port my phone number over to another carrier. Isn't the phone number the same as the account number? Is there any way I can just port my VM USA number over to another carrier without calling VM USA, as they are a hassle to deal with?

Text spam is illegal under the CAN SPAM act, yet it seems to be getting worse instead of better. I received my first text spam earlier this year from some email address I didn't know. I added it to VM's block list and thought that would be the end of the problem. I should have known better.

Now not a week goes by where I don't get some message trying to sell me "tool enlargement" formula or stocks in some phony company or whatever.

It is outrageous because USA users have to pay for incoming as well as outgoing messages. No matter how many of these emails I add to VM's block list, another will be there to take its place.

I have no wish to disable texting altogether as that is almost my sole use for my phone in the first place. It's just annoying that someone can take a good thing like texting and ruin it!

Does anyone here run into this problem? How does it make you feel? What do you do?

Every time I check my email in my Wild Card's browser, I have to go through this annoying prompt. I have disabled the prompt in the browser's preferences, but it seems to reset them every time I exit the browser (or perhaps it's after I've turned off the phone. I have no clue). Aren't set preferences supposed to stick?

A lot of people online express annoyance at cell phone users. I can understand being annoyed by loud ringtones or loud and personal conversations, but some of them I think would like to banish us altogether.

How much consideration do we owe people who dislike phones? If we're in a restaurant, shouldn't we have the right to talk/text at our tables as long as we're not obnoxious about it?

Of course using cell phones is still banned on passenger jets. I can be sympathetic to not wanting a bunch of people talking on their phones all at once and what not, but shouldn't people at least be able to text and web surf and just keep the phones on vibrate?

And of course in school... It's rude and obnoxious to talk on the phone during class, but shouldn't students be able to keep their phones as long as they're off or on vibrate? And shouldn't they be able to use them during lunch as long as they put them away before going to class?
