How can a get a new phone without a new service plan?

I have a razr, and a few months ago i dropped it and severley damaged the front screen. It pretty much works, but a lot of dust gets trapped from the opening which makes it hard to see. I want to get a new phone, because the T-moble guys said it would cost $700 to replace the screen. The thing is, the razr's still on a contract, and I can't get a new phone untill the 2 years is up. Is there a way I can geta phone w/o a contract so I can just transfer my SIM card into it?
Also, where's a good place to buy a phone (not necesarily a razr) without a service plan?

i have a razr too....mines damaged also...
i didnt want to pay so much to replace it so i was going to buy a new phone (sidekick) for about what i would pay to repair the razr, but i have over a year on my contract, they guy said that theres no way i can buy a new phone without changing the contract.
