Exclamation Samsung Gravity (SGH-T459) 8gb external memory problem.

I just got a new 8gb external memory card for this phone in order to store my music and media on it and it seems to not be working. I called T-Mobile (NYSE: DT) about it and they said that the limit for the phone is 4gb...and I asked if they could show me some place that they had that written because every page, every ad and every single thing I've read about this phone on their site and at their stores says only one thing "full mini sd support". Now correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't "full" support mean actual full...and complete support. So where in heck did they put the text which said any different b4 I bought the phone from them.

Added to that, when I was at the carriers store, before actually purchasing this phone I asked quite a series of questions, as would any buyer who prefers to be well informed, which included the specific question on support for memory cards and limits, and not one, not two but three of their employees made it clear and sure to me that the limit was 8gb.....the phone could not support 16gb (which I also asked out of mere curiosity).

Now my problem is, I went online and purchased this wonderful little 8gb micro sd that apparently is being accepted by the phone but isn't showing up on the Samsung PC Suite so that I could add files to it, or whilst showing the alert that a memory card has been inserted (which obviously means the phone recognises "some" part of it) but when going into menu and checking the memory status on the card it only shows a silly 64kb total of which 40kb is apparently being used....for god only knows what?!?

So the basic problem here is.....how can I get this phone to let me use my 8gb external memory...and how to get the option for storing to external memory on both the phone and the phone explorer for pc data transfer to show up?

I was also wondering if anyone could point me towards a nice site for registry hacks i could use on my sgh-t459? I've been googling and googling but have yet to find anything at all. Any one with any ideas on how to possibly hack the registry for this phone in order to edit/change/remove the limitations if their is one? Or something of the likes to help me out in this situation.

Thanx......and I hope I didnt make this post too long for anyone to want to actually read through and answer it. *shrugs*.

Cool What i found out

Well, all I can say is that it sucks that the place where you purchased your cards were underinformed (or just trying to make a sale). Hopefully you can take the card back and get what you can actually use. I just recently purchased a gravity myself, and I in my anticipation (and inability to find information for myself online) I called T-Mobile (NYSE: DT) up and had a 20 minute conversation with the customer service rep.

I found out from there that it supports up to 4gb, and I agree, that is not found anywhere online, much less on T-Mobiles website. Unfortuneatly, this you already know, and since i don't even physically have a Gravity in my hands at the moment, there's not much else I can give to you. In order for the phone to recognize the 8gb card would be if there was a firmware flash upgrade on the phone, and that's entirely up to samsung to create and tmobile to allow, short of someone creating one of their own.

As far as the rest of your quest...good luck to you. Hopefully someone else posts the information here as well, because I'd like to get into it myself.
