compare Samsung Instinct and Sanyo SCP - 2700?

I'm thinking about getting a phone for my daughter. She is 15 and has been begging for a phone and her birthday is coming up. I asked her what kind of phones she liked and she rattled off a whole bunch that i didn't understand and i asked her what she liked best and she said the the Samsung Instinct and the Sanyo (OTCPK: SANYY) SCP - 2700. I found some for a reduced price and i want to know which she will like best.

She will probably use it mostly for texting and talking and our service doesn't offer internet service so that won't matter.

Which will she like best and what will last the longest? Also how is the screen on the Instinct? she said that having a hard to use screen is her biggest concern for the Instinct and not having video on the 2700.
