| I am thinking of buying an unlocked iPhone, as I will be spending much of the next few months both in Italy and Japan. Were I to buy an Italian unlocked iPhone, would it accept a Softbank (OTCPK: SFTBF) sim card and connect to their network in Japan? |

| Yes, I think the iPhone will work with a Softbank (OTCPK: SFTBF) SIM. However, if I remember correctly, the data features won't work - so you'll just get the phone functionality. You will find it difficult to get a SIM without an alien registration (which takes a while to get hold of). I rented a SIM from a counter at Narita airport when I was there - from a company called Mobal. |
