| Okay, I work for a Sprint (NYSE: S) rep. I get this question ALL the time. A Sprint phone WILL NOT WORK on a Nextel plan and vis versa. Sprint uses what is called the CDMA network (all carriers but nextel use this network) Nextel is on a network all by itself called IDEN. They cannot transfer over. It just wont work. Sprint is coming out with a phone that will us Sprints towers for the voice service and Nextel towers for the direct connect service. Check your area for when they will have this phone. Its called a hybrid phone. But the fusic is a great phone and you will have better coverage with Sprint than with Nextel. Sprint charges no roaming fees and they are offering unmilited mobile to mobile to any Sprint or Nextel person. You might want to think about just going with Sprint. |

| It depends on your plan. If you have a fair and flexible, then no. However, if you have a power pack plan, then yes. They introduced those plans after they merged, and they work on both networks. If you have the a fair and flexible, you might want to think about changing over to the power pack plans anyways, because they include domestic roaming, mobile to mobile, and nights starting at seven for no extra charge. Just go to a Sprint (NYSE: S) store. It also depends on what billing system you are on. Sprint has been moving all of their customers over to the Nextel Ensemble system. All this means is that it will take just a little longer. Also, if you are eligible for a rebate with Nextel, you will still be eligible at Sprint, and vice versa. The fusic is a really nice phone, and it has a really long battery life, but don't rule out the Upstage(coming out April 1). Here's a link to check out..... http://www.introducingupstage.com/ and this one.... http://www2.sprint.com/mr/news_dtl.do?id=15820 for more information. Hope this helps. |
