I'm on a family cell plan with sprint and my phone was disabled b/c my parents...

...didn't pay, can i seperate? basically i want to know if I'm better off with doing a separate plan for myself or will they let me separate my phone onto a new plan for me.
They have a land-line so cell phone's aren't a priority to them and i'm living on my own like i have been the last 4 years, they got me and my brothers phones for christmas but haven't paid and the phone's temporarily disconnected. I kind of prefere being on a seperate plan b/c i can make sure my phone is always activated especially since i started my first professional job.

in addition, i have weak credit, due to age, and while i was in school (til this last Dec) i worked part time and was living paycheck to paycheck so some bills were made late. will i have to pay a down payment to get a new phone if that's what i have to do?
