Upgrading my current cell phone on Sprint?

I got a RAZR 2V9m phone a year ago from Sprint (NYSE: S) and two weeks ago the menu screen got messed up and wouldn't work properly. Sprint wanted to charge me to much to get it fixed. I want to upgrade and am eligible for 75 dollars on my next phone. My question is can I keep my same plan which is the 450 min basic plan because I want to get the new HTC Pro smart phone. I don't need the data plans that most smart phones come with since I will just use the wifi that the phone has. Will sprint force me to get the data plan or can I keep the old plan and apply to the HTC Pro. Any good advice will be very helpful.

They will force you but you can just say that u dont have good data coverage where u live

visit sprint.com to see if they will charge you for the data plan. i do not think they will. the only phone from Sprint (NYSE: S) i know that requires a specific plan is the samsung instinct. good luck getting your new phone!
