Can I get another t-mobile prepaid plan if I already have an existing one?

I have a prepaid plan and they do offer to add a 2nd line but I was wondering if it'd be cheaper and possible to get another cell phone on another prepaid plan.

I only want a temp phone I plan on closing in November...and I want it to be cheap.
