How can I get T Mobile cell service if I do not live within a T Mobile service area?

I live in Knoxville, TN (37917). When I went online to order service I see that there are T Mobile stores in Nashville (37212) and Chattanooga (37995) but not Knoxville. It complained that my billing address was not in a valid service area. I want to get off of AT&T but I want to continue using my GSM phones and I can't find any other GSM providers in my area. Is there a way to contract T Mobile service in Knoxville, TN?

NO! Didn't you just say they weren't in your area??? Check with other cell companies in your area or get a pre-pay phone

The only way to do that is to have an address that you can register your T-Mobile (NYSE: DT) account with. Be very careful in doing that. If you have a problem with your service or with your phone, T-Mobile is not going to be able to help you since you would not be in their service area. If the network goes down or you have problems with texting or voicemail or anything actually, you will have to figure it out yourself. If it is not on their network they will typically not know what is causing the issue.
