Default Why does T-mobile make you buy data service with a G1 phone?
I want one that I can use with any wireless network like the one in my house or at work or any other hotspot. Is this not possible unless you have T-Mobile (NYSE: DT) data service?

Yes they do. Android is all by data. So I assume you would have to plus when u turn your phone on for the first time you have to login to your Gmail account n withoutyou data server it wont connect n you will only be able to make data calls
