How do I port a prepaid T-mobile number to Verizon service (not prepaid)? I signed a one-year contract with Verizon ( NYSE: VZ) today and when trying to port my old prepaid T-Mobile ( NYSE: DT) number, the dealer told me that I needed to provide my T-Mobile OSP account number. I wasn't aware that prepaid phones had this, so right now I'm trying to find the number and I'll be going back tomorrow to try to get my number ported. Has anyone ported a prepaid number to a contract before, and how would I go about doing so?
Thanks.
I've called customer service several times now and they've told me repeatedly that my "account number" is my mobile number, which does not work for Verizon porting. I don't think prepaid phones have an account number per se since there is no monthly billing but Verizon customer service told me that I can have the dealer assign me a random new number and then have Verizon send the port request which will then change the number on my new phone from the random one to my old T-Mobile one. Can anyone confirm this? |
