I have heard from some people that it would work, and others say the enV is strictly a Verizon (NYSE: VZ) phone. If anybody has any insight, please share!

The LG enV is a Verizon phone, and Verizon is a CDMA provider. AT&T is a GSM provider, so no, it will not work. The two technologies are different, and are not interchangeable.
